Women on a mission to ‘Make it Happen’.
‘Make it happen’ was the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March and for me the ‘Make it happen’ phrase has been my ethos since the start of my business journey and will continue to be. The theme also brought about some of the many issues faced by women and the need for change across the globe. Women have systematically been sidelined and skipped over in top-tier management roles – diversity in the boardroom is a major problem, and for some it’s one step forward and two steps back.
Surrounding oneself with like-minded people is one of the simplest steps any entrepreneur can take to keep up momentum and stay focused and I had the pleasure of hosting a gathering for ten talented and courageous women who all came together in London to connect, socialise and discuss how together we can support one another to make it happen for each other and many others like us. The evening was a resounding success and the conversations that were had were both empowering and inspiring and left everyone feeling motivated about their next steps. As an entrepreneur there is much to be said of coming together as and where possible to bounce ideas and compare notes and ultimately share knowledge and experience.
Thank you ladies, and until the next time, continue to make it happen!
